Influence of Serum Albumin on HbA1c and HbA1c-Defined Glycemic Status: A Retrospective Study
نویسندگان
چکیده
Background: Glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c) is commonly used in the diagnosis and evaluation of glycemic control diabetes, it may be influenced by several non-glycemic factors, including albumin. This retrospective study investigated influence albumin on HbA1c HbA1c-defined status. Methods: The demographic, hematological, biochemical data were collected for 11,922 patients undergoing routine physical examination. Univariate multivariate linear regression analyses, stratified analyses interaction multiple logistic conducted to identify association between people with different Results: levels inversely associated serum level ( P < 0.0001) all participants. Risk factors leading included age > 45 years, high fasting plasma glucose (≥7.0 mmol/L), anemia. negative was curved had a threshold effect diabetic population; significantly stronger when fell below 41.4 g/L (β: −0.31, 95% CI: −0.45 −0.17, 0.0001). A 2 increase reduced odds dysglycemia, poor glycemia 12% 36%, after adjustment possible confounders. Conclusions: participants, diabetes (defined criteria). For lower level, there an increased risk erroneous HbA1c-based identification management

Current Status of HbA1c Biosensors
Glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c) is formed via non-enzymatic glycosylation reactions at the α-amino group of βVal1 residues in the tetrameric Hb, and it can reflect the ambient glycemic level over the past two to three months. A variety of HbA1c detection methods, including chromatography, immunoassay, enzymatic measurement, electrochemical sensor and capillary electrophoresis have been developed an...
متن کاملInfluence of thyroidectomy on postoperative serum calcium level regarding serum vitamin D status. A prospective study
Background: Hypocalcemia is a well-recognized complication after total thyroidectomy. Hypovitaminosis D may have additional effect in the development of hypocalcemia. This study aimed to determine the effect of total thyroidectomy on postoperative serum calcium in patients with and without hypovitaminosis D. Methods: This prospective study was performed on patients who underwent total...
متن کاملA Study on Correlation of Anthropometric measures and HbA1c
There are certain Anthropometric measures which are important risk factors for development of non insulin dependent Diabetes. Previous studies have shown that body mass index (BMI) and waist hip circumference ratio (WHR) as well as other anthropometric measurements are predictive of NIDDM[1]. Shalom Nwodo Chinedu et al. also studied the correlation between body mass index and waist circumferenc...
متن کاملInpatient HbA1c testing: a prospective observational study
OBJECTIVE To use admission inpatient glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c) testing to help investigate the prevalence of unrecognized diabetes, the cumulative prevalence of unrecognized and known diabetes, and the prevalence of poor glycemic control in both. Moreover, we aimed to determine the 6-month outcomes for these patients. Finally, we aimed to assess the independent association of diabetes with th...

BACKGROUND Hyperhomocysteinemia is a risk factor for vascular diseases. This study aimed to investigate the serum total homocysteine (tHcy) level and nutritional status in elderly inpatients and determine the relationship between tHcy level and nutritional status. METHODS This cross sectional study was carried out in the Tongji hospital, and 142 subjects were consecutively recruited. Fasting ...
